Best GAMSAT Preparation Materials

If you’re looking for the best best GAMSAT preparation courses so you can maximise your score in the least amount of time, then you’ve come to the right place.

The GAMSAT section 1 is a notoriously difficult and time-consuming exam, one that requires at least three months (potentially more if you’re having to revise around different priorities) of focused study.

Moreover, your GAMSAT score and GPA (i.e., your stats) are the single most important factor for medical school admissions (of course interviews etc are important too), so it’s critical that you do as well as possible on the GAMSAT exam with the very best GAMSAT preparation materials at your disposal.

A big part of your GAMSAT performance depends on how you study and with what GAMSAT preparation materials you’re studying with. Of course, everyone learns differently. Some GAMSAT students prefer to study alone and others in groups.

Some GAMSAT students like the structure of GAMSAT courses, some have more self-discipline, yet others prefer the accountability and personal attention of a dedicated GAMSAT tutor – which in this current climate with COVID-19 flying about seems highly unlikely. There is no right or wrong answer here. We’ve observed GAMSAT students do very well on the GAMSAT using all of these methods.

That said, your GAMSAT score is also contingent on using the right GAMSAT preparation courses and revision materials when studying.

While the GAMSAT requires significant knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics, and social sciences (i.e., humanities, sociology), it is not strictly a science test. Rather, every section requires comprehension, reasoning and knowledge of how to do well on the GAMSAT specifically.

Regardless of how you choose to study for the exam, you will likely purchase not so good or the best GAMSAT preparation materials on your GAMSAT journey, and you’ve probably likely wondered which are the best GAMSAT preparation materials to utilise for your GAMSAT revision.

A rule of thumb is to do 4-6 practice exams under realistic conditions where you’re getting scores you’re comfortable with before you take the actual exam.

If you’re looking for an GAMSAT prep course, check out my video review of Blueprint GAMSAT (formerly Next Step Test Prep)’s GAMSAT course, as I think it’s the best available.

That said, you don’t necessarily need an GAMSAT course. You can self-study (if you have good habits and can be disciplined) and just buy retail books provided by an GAMSAT prep company.
