The New Europa Conference League Explained

Leicester City, Everton, Tottenham, Arsenal and many other top Premier League teams may find themselves playing in UEFA’s new competition – UEFA Conference League next season. But what is this competition?

 

What is Europa Conference League?

The new competition will be the third organized UEFA club competition and run alongside both the Prestigious and glamorous UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, which have jackpotjill releasing odds on every matches being played.

The idea is to give more European teams a taste of European competition, particularly clubs from Nations that struggle to qualify for the Champions League and the Europa League.

 

Who qualifies from England?

Provided Chelsea and FA Cup champions Leicester remain in the top five – or the Blues go on to lift the UEFA Champions League – the League’s seventh-placed club will qualify for the new Europa Conference League next term

 

When will matches be played?

 

The Europa Conference League and the Europa League fixtures will both be played on Thursdays, with kick-offs at about 5.45 pm and 8 pm respectively.

The new UEFA competition is set to kick off in 2021/22 and run throughout the 2021/24 league cycle at least.

 

Format

The competition will have First, Second, Third Qualifying Rounds, and then a Play-Off round before the ‘money-spinning’ Group Stage.

The Premier League team will join at the Play-Off round, a two-legged fixture on August 19 and 26. The Premier League campaign begins on the weekend of 14th August.

The winners of the eight groups automatically qualify for the round of 16. More knockouts round play-off matches will then be played before the round of 16 fixtures between the eight group second-placed teams and the third-ranked clubs of the UEFA Europa League groups.

Meaning if a Premier League team makes the final of the Europa Conference League, they will play 15 games more, or 17 matches if they finish as runner-up in their group, and all matches will be covered with odds coming from casinoclic casino en ligne when the time comes.

The new format of this competition will make sure about 34 UEFA national associations are duly represented in the group stage at least one or two UEFA club competitions.
